Con más de una década de trayectoria, los húngaros Meteora han alcanzado un nivel de madurez compositiva y emocional que se percibe desde los primeros segundos de In This Silence, su nuevo EP que verá la luz el próximo 8 de agosto de 2025 a través del sello H-Music. Esta entrega marca el inicio de una trilogía y representa una evolución audaz dentro de su característico enfoque al metal sinfónico oscuro, dramático y profundamente narrativo. La banda, que ya había demostrado su talento y visión artística en álbumes como «Tragedy of Delusion» y «…Of Shades and Colours», eleva aquí su propuesta con una producción cristalina y una estructura narrativa que equilibra intensidad, belleza y mensaje con notable precisión.

El viaje comienza con la propia «In This Silence», una apertura inquietante en la que los teclados de Atilla Király se entrelazan con riffs pesados y tensos, marcando una atmósfera de inminente tormenta. Desde el primer minuto se percibe la riqueza de capas y dinámicas: los tres registros vocales (la voz etérea de Noémi Holló, las líneas limpias de Atilla y los guturales de Máté Fülöp) se entrelazan en una danza perfectamente orquestada, aportando dimensión y textura a una canción que no teme mutar dentro de sí misma. El dramatismo continúa con «Rebirth», probablemente el corte más monumental del EP: una pieza de altos vuelos donde Noémi brilla con una interpretación vocal que roza lo cinematográfico, mientras las guitarras de Dániel Baranya y Dániel Schreiber tallan melodías que parecen surgir entre truenos. Hay una tensión constante entre la delicadeza y la furia, que encuentra su equilibrio exacto gracias al impecable trabajo rítmico del baterista Gábor Kása.

«Free», el primer adelanto, destaca como corazón conceptual y emocional del EP. Con un enfoque más directo pero igualmente elaborado, esta canción condensa el mensaje central de resistencia, esperanza y unidad frente a la manipulación y la violencia ideológica. Su estribillo funciona como un himno de comunión en tiempos de fragmentación, y su solo de teclado, de ejecución brillante, actúa como un clímax emocional que atrapa incluso al oyente menos familiarizado con el género. Aquí Meteora demuestra que su propuesta no es solo técnica, sino también humana. El cierre llega con «Ghosts», una joya melancólica donde la contención reemplaza a la épica sin perder impacto. Es un final introspectivo, casi espiritual, donde Noémi y Atilla despliegan una sensibilidad melódica que sobrevuela un paisaje de recuerdos y cicatrices. El solo de guitarra, perfectamente encajado, sirve como elevación emocional y epílogo de un viaje tan denso como cautivador.

La mezcla a cargo de Nino Helfrich y Dmitry Kim permite que cada elemento, desde los pasajes orquestales hasta los detalles vocales más sutiles, respire con espacio y definición. El toque final lo pone Joel Wanasek en la masterización, aportando una cohesión sonora de primer nivel, digna de los grandes nombres del metal contemporáneo. El apartado visual, con arte y video de Dronicon Films, refuerza la propuesta estética del EP, consolidando a Meteora como una banda que entiende el metal sinfónico no solo como música, sino como experiencia total.

«In This Silence» es una declaración artística compleja, poderosa y emocionalmente resonante. Meteora no solo consolida su identidad, sino que se proyecta hacia un futuro lleno de ambición y profundidad. With over a decade of experience, the Hungarians Meteora have reached a level of compositional and emotional maturity that can be felt from the very first seconds of «In This Silence», their new EP that will be released on August 8, 2025, via the label H-Music. This release marks the beginning of a trilogy and represents a bold evolution within their characteristic approach to dark, dramatic, and deeply narrative symphonic metal. The band, who had already demonstrated their talent and artistic vision on albums such as «Tragedy of Delusion» and «…Of Shades and Colours», here elevate their proposal with crystalline production and a narrative structure that balances intensity, beauty, and message with remarkable precision.

The journey begins with the title track «In This Silence», an unsettling opener in which Atilla Király’s keyboards intertwine with heavy and tense riffs, setting an atmosphere of impending storm. From the very first minute, the richness of layers and dynamics can be perceived: the three vocal registers (the ethereal voice of Noémi Holló, the clean lines of Atilla, and the growls of Máté Fülöp) interweave in a perfectly orchestrated dance, bringing dimension and texture to a song that is unafraid to mutate within itself.
