De Profundis, the veteran British death metal band formed in 2005, is preparing to release the conceptual EP «The Gospel Of Rot» next October 1st. This work marks a new chapter in the group’s career, which celebrates its twentieth anniversary with a renewed lineup that includes vocalist Stefano Bassi and bassist Simon McAuliffe. The EP, composed of four tracks, is a manifesto against what the band describes as the tyranny of profit over people. «The Gospel Of Rot» addresses war, blind faith, and the degradation of human civilization. The work is characterized by a direct and aggressive approach, with which the band returns to the foundations of the genre that inspired them.
