La banda busca ofrecer una visión del deterioro del espíritu humano. El álbum es, según la banda, una obra que invita a los oyentes a una experiencia sonora intensa, pero gratificante.
Old Year, the drone-doom band from Boise, Idaho, has announced the release of their four-track debut album, «No Dissent», for October 24th. The record will be released by the label Apocalyptic Witchcraft.
Originally formed as a duo by guitarist and vocalist Robert Taylor Roark and drummer Jered Veeneman, the band expanded in 2021 with the addition of bassist Skyler Rezendes. After a period of working in isolation, the trio brought their mix of drone, doom, and death metal to local stages. An eponymous single of over ten minutes, released in 2023, earned them the attention of Apocalyptic Witchcraft, whose director, Conor Droney, described their music as the soundtrack to the end of the world.
The band seeks to offer a vision of the deterioration of the human spirit. The album is, according to the band, a work that invites listeners to an intense, yet rewarding, sonic experience.
