Wormholedeath has announced the signing of the Greek melodic death metal band Flamecore. As part of the deal, the label will re-release the group’s self-titled debut album.
The band, originally from Chania and Athens, fuses the heaviness of metal with melodic passages, creating a sound that evokes bands like In Flames, Slipknot, and Gojira, but with their own identity. Their trajectory began with the collaboration between drummer and vocalist Leonidas Viglakis and guitarist Stathis Lianos, which culminated in the formation of a project with a clear vision. With the incorporation of Panagiotis Tsopelas and Akis Blazakis, the band took full form.
The debut album was recorded in two cities, reflecting the band’s «do it yourself» approach. Leonidas handled the drums and vocals in Chania, while Stathis recorded the guitars and bass in Athens. The mixing and mastering were done by John Mor at Apex Soundworks, achieving a sound that balances power with clarity. The record includes a variety of elements, from blast beats to harmonized guitar solos and a vocal range that goes from guttural to melodic.
Flamecore‘s lyrics focus on internal conflict, identity, and social disintegration, offering a cathartic experience. With the addition of Iasonas Stefanou for live performances and bassist Panagiotis Mousouras, the band is actively working on new material and performing concerts.
