Formados a mediados de los 90, Imperial Domain se hizo notar en la escena sueca con su demo «The Final Chapter» (1995), seguido por «In the Ashes of the Fallen» (1996). Su álbum debut de larga duración, también titulado «In the Ashes of the Fallen», se publicó en 1998 a través de Pulverised Records, seguido por «The Ordeal» en 2003.

Wormholedeath has announced the addition of the Swedish melodic death metal band Imperial Domain to its global roster. The band’s new album, «Portentum» will be released on November 14, 2025. To celebrate the news, the band has released the single «History Repeating» accompanied by a music video. According to the band, the song seeks to capture their mix of aggression, atmosphere, and melodic depth.

Imperial Domain notes that «Portentum» explores the cyclical nature of history and humanity. The album addresses dark historical and contemporary themes, from ancient omens to modern dystopias, reflecting a creative process that the band describes as an exploration of the past, present, and future of civilization.
