The Italian metal band Hyperion has announced the release of their third full-length album, «Cybergenesis» scheduled for January 15, 2026, through Fighter Records. The record is a dark science fiction concept album, aimed at followers of traditional Heavy Metal.
As the first single and opening track, the band has released «Deafening» now available on streaming platforms.
«Cybergenesis» consists of eight tracks that narrate the story of humanity immersed in a desperate war after an expedition that awakens the «Choir,» an ancient alien hive mind. The narrative focuses on the figure of a former commander who, reborn as the «Rhizome Rider» leads the rebellion against the army of cyborgs that enslaves Earth. The concept is influenced by classic science fiction, from Star Trek to Ghost in the Shell.
The album cover art was hand-painted on canvas by the English artist Ryan T. Hancock, known for his works with bands like Seven Sisters and Blood Star. Hyperion opted for a handcrafted artwork to give the album an authentic visual identity.
