El proyecto ucraniano de folk metal Orathania ha confirmado oficialmente el lanzamiento de su álbum debut, titulado «Echo Of Freedom», el cual será editado por el sello Archivist Records el próximo 3 de abril de 2026.
Fundada en Kiev en 2025, Orathania surge de la unión creativa entre el músico tradicional (lirnyk-kobzar) Borgvarr y dos figuras fundamentales de la formación original de Nokturnal Mortum: Varggoth y Karpath. La filosofía del proyecto rechaza la separación convencional entre el folk y el metal, integrando ambos elementos como un lenguaje único y cohesionado.
Conceptualmente, la banda profundiza en las raíces místicas de Ucrania y en el espíritu inquebrantable de una nación forjada a través de pruebas históricas, impulsada por una fe absoluta en su victoria tanto física como existencial.
La formación acaba de estrenar su segundo sencillo, «Nashe Svitlo» (Nuestra Luz), acompañado de un video oficial. El lanzamiento coincide con un mensaje de gratitud y memoria hacia quienes defienden la soberanía de Ucrania:
«En este día de recuerdo y dolor, presentamos ‘Nuestra Luz’. Que su brillo sane la amargura de todas las penas. Con gratitud hacia todos los que protegen Ucrania», declara la banda.
The Ukrainian folk metal project Orathania has officially confirmed the release of their debut album, titled «Echo Of Freedom», which will be issued by the label Archivist Records on April 3, 2026.
Founded in Kyiv in 2025, Orathania emerged from the creative union between traditional musician (lirnyk-kobzar) Borgvarr and two fundamental figures from the original lineup of Nokturnal Mortum: Varggoth and Karpath. The project’s philosophy rejects the conventional separation between folk and metal, integrating both elements into a single, cohesive language.
Conceptually, the band delves into the mystical roots of Ukraine and the unbreakable spirit of a nation forged through historical trials, driven by an absolute faith in its both physical and existential victory.
The group has just premiered their second single, «Nashe Svitlo» (Our Light), accompanied by an official video. The release coincides with a message of gratitude and remembrance for those defending Ukraine’s sovereignty:
«On this day of remembrance and sorrow, we present ‘Our Light.’ May its glow heal the bitterness of all grief. With gratitude to all who protect Ukraine», the band declared.
