La veterana banda sueca de melodic death metal Imperial Domain ha lanzado «Retribution», el segundo sencillo extraído de su próximo álbum, «Portentum». El disco está programado para ser lanzado el 14 de noviembre de 2025 a través del sello Wormholedeath.
«Retribution» es descrito por la banda como una declaración de justicia tardía, impulsada por riffs contundentes y un coro agresivo. El tema canaliza la traición y la humillación en una expresión de venganza característica del melodic death metal. Founded in the mid-90s, the band made an impact on the Swedish underground with their debut demo «The Final Chapter» (1995) and the EP «In the Ashes of the Fallen» (1996). Their self-titled debut album from 1998, released by Pulverised Records, consolidated Imperial Domain as an emerging force, followed by the acclaimed «The Ordeal» (2003).
After a period of inactivity and the loss of their vocalist Tobias Heideman in 2014, the band resurfaced with «The Deluge» (2016), reaffirming their position in the genre. With «Portentum» the band seeks to present their most powerful work to date.
