Desde Reggio Emilia, Italia, los titanes del deathcore The Modern Age Slavery han lanzado su nuevo sencillo titulado «The War Within». Este tema es el segundo adelanto de su próximo EP, «1969 | No One Jokes at God», el cual constituye la segunda entrega de una ambiciosa trilogía artística dedicada a explorar la esclavitud autoimpuesta por la humanidad.
Líricamente, la canción aborda el encuentro entre generaciones y el perdón de los jóvenes hacia sus predecesores. Bajo las premisas de «no somos tan malos, al fin y al cabo» y «siempre es más oscuro justo antes del amanecer», el grupo recupera conceptos de su aclamado álbum «Requiem For Us All», pero esta vez permitiendo una luz de esperanza y redención frente a los errores del pasado.
La banda inició en 2022 un viaje conceptual dividido en tres eras históricas:
Capítulo I (1901): Representado en el álbum de 2023 «1901 | The First Mother», inspirado en los filósofos de la «edad moderna» y el fin de la era victoriana.
Capítulo II (1969): El nuevo EP, «1969 | No One Jokes at God», toma como referencia el inicio simbólico de la cultura hipster en Woodstock y la vertiginosa transformación de los ideales de igualdad en la decadencia global que le sucedió.
El EP ha sido producido por la propia banda, con Luca Cocconi (guitarrista) y Simone Sighinolfi al mando de la ingeniería sonora. El proceso de mezcla y masterización tuvo lugar en el Audiocore Studio (Parma, Italia).

From Reggio Emilia, Italy, the deathcore titans The Modern Age Slavery have released their new single titled «The War Within». This track serves as the second preview of their upcoming EP, «1969 | No One Jokes at God», which constitutes the second installment of an ambitious artistic trilogy dedicated to exploring humanity’s self-imposed slavery.
Lyrically, the song addresses the encounter between generations and the forgiveness of the youth toward their predecessors. Under the premises of «we aren’t so bad, after all» and «it is always darkest just before the dawn,» the group revisits concepts from their acclaimed album «Requiem For Us All», but this time allowing for a glimmer of hope and redemption in the face of past mistakes.
In 2022, the band began a conceptual journey divided into three historical eras:
Chapter I (1901): Represented in the 2023 album «1901 | The First Mother», inspired by «modern age» philosophers and the end of the Victorian era.
Chapter II (1969): The new EP, «1969 | No One Jokes at God», takes the symbolic birth of hipster culture at Woodstock as a reference, alongside the dizzying transformation of ideals of equality into the global decadence that followed.
The EP was produced by the band itself, with guitarist Luca Cocconi and Simone Sighinolfi at the helm of sound engineering. The mixing and mastering process took place at Audiocore Studio (Parma, Italy).
