After four years of shared long-distance writing — exchanging riffs, lyrics, and song structures — the project finally took shape in the studio, with a production that emphasizes organic and raw sound.

The creation of Utyske was deeply influenced by the duo’s connection to the nature of northern Norway. The lyrics, written under the spell of nights spent in forests and mountains, evoke images of solitude, fear, and pagan spirituality. This is not a technical or particularly fast black metal album, but rather an atmospheric journey that seeks to capture the essence of the primitive.
