Lamb of God, una de las bandas más influyentes y exitosas del metal moderno —frecuentemente citados como parte de los “Big Four del metal de los 2000”—, anunciaron el pasado 15 de enero el lanzamiento de su duodécimo álbum de estudio, titulado «Into Oblivion».

Además del anuncio del álbum, Lamb of God confirmaron una gira por Norteamérica en primavera, acompañados por Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy y Sanguisugabogg. El tour arrancará el 17 de marzo en The Theater at MGM National Harbor (Maryland), apenas unos días después del lanzamiento del disco, y se extenderá durante seis semanas hasta concluir en el MGM Music Hall at Fenway, en Boston.

The new record will consist of ten songs and marks the band’s first full-length release since «Omens» (2022). Alongside the announcement, the band premiered the album’s title track, offering a first glimpse into the sonic direction of this new phase. «Into Oblivion» will be officially released on March 13.
The album will also include the previously released singles «Parasocial Christ» and «Sepsis», compositions that have been compared by fans and specialized press to Lamb of God’s earlier sound, recalling the period when the band was establishing itself in its hometown of Richmond, Virginia.
Formed in the mid-1990s, Lamb of God quickly established what would become their classic lineup, with John Campbell on bass, Mark Morton on lead guitar, Willie Adler on rhythm guitar, Chris Adler on drums (replaced by Art Cruz in 2019), and Randy Blythe on vocals. With «Into Oblivion», the band fully embraces its status as veterans of the genre and the creative freedom that comes with it. In the words of guitarist Mark Morton:
“For me, the album is about having space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to follow any trend or expectation. It feels good not to be tied to any agenda beyond coming together around the idea of: ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all began.”
For his part, Randy Blythe explained the meaning of the album’s title by stating that “Into Oblivion is where we are heading”. The vocalist added that the album’s lyrical content revolves around the “ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly in the United States”, noting that “today, things are accepted that would have horrified people just 20 years ago”.
In addition to the album announcement, Lamb of God confirmed a North American spring tour, accompanied by Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. The tour will kick off on March 17 at The Theater at MGM National Harbor (Maryland), just days after the album’s release, and will run for six weeks before concluding at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston.
With «Into Oblivion», Lamb of God are preparing to add a new and significant chapter to a career that continues to set the pace of international metal.
