Originarios de Falkirk y fundados en 2006, Cnoc An Tursa (cuyo nombre se traduce como «La Colina de la Piedra Vertical») han dedicado su carrera a capturar la esencia de la historia, el paisaje y la mitología de Escocia a través del metal extremo. Hailing from Falkirk and founded in 2006, Cnoc An Tursa (whose name translates to «The Hill of the Standing Stone») have dedicated their career to capturing the essence of Scotland’s history, landscape, and mythology through extreme metal. Following the success of their previous works, «The Giants Of Auld» and «The Forty Five» (2017)—both of which received international critical acclaim for their fierce fusion of black metal and Celtic roots—the band breaks an eight-year recording silence to present their most ambitious work to date: «A Cry For The Slain».
Released under the Apocalyptic Witchcraft label, this new album is positioned as an immersive journey through the legends of the Highlands. Each composition breathes life into mythological figures such as banshees, shapeshifters, giants, and dragons, intertwining the aggression of black metal with evocative Gaelic melodies.
