La escena del metal extremo ucraniano continúa demostrando su inagotable vitalidad. El trío de brutal death metal Sectarian Defacement, ha revelado oficialmente los detalles de su primer álbum de larga duración, titulado «Hostile Consuming Rapture». El disco será lanzado el próximo 6 de abril a través del sello Grave Island Records.
Como carta de presentación de este asalto sonoro, la banda ha estrenado un vídeo playthrough de su primer sencillo, «Sectarian Ritual (Appalling Oath)», donde se aprecia la destreza técnica y la contundencia que definen esta nueva etapa.
Tras el impacto de su EP previo, «Chaotic Demiurge», Sectarian Defacement ha decidido llevar su sonido hacia un terreno más pesado y enfocado. La banda se aleja deliberadamente de la tendencia actual del «slamcore» sobreproducido, apostando por un brutal death agresivo y directo que golpea con la fuerza de un arma contundente. El álbum amalgama riffs técnicos, una intensidad propia del grind y secciones rítmicas cargadas de groove que garantizan temas memorables sin perder un ápice de extremismo.
Más allá de la violencia sonora, el trío destaca por una profundidad lírica poco común en el género. En «Hostile Consuming Rapture», la banda aborda temas históricos oscuros, centrándose especialmente en los crímenes del régimen soviético, una temática que consideran vital para el público internacional.
Los miembros de la formación han compartido su visión sobre la producción del disco:
Nazar (Guitarra/Voz): «Como compositor, mi objetivo era fusionar la agresividad extrema con elementos pegadizos y con mucho groove. Queríamos crear algo único que nos diferenciara de la saturación de bandas que suenan igual».
Anton (Bajo/Producción): «Como responsable del sonido, busqué una mezcla que no sonara procesada. Mi enfoque fue darle al ‘old school slam’ una modernización lógica, influenciado por bandas como Sanguisugabogg, Aborted Fetus o Amputated«.
Viktor (Batería): «Disfruto mucho el hecho de ser una de las pocas bandas que habla sobre los crímenes de la Unión Soviética; es fundamental que los oyentes occidentales conozcan la verdad a través de nuestra música».

The brutal death metal trio Sectarian Defacement has officially revealed the details of their first full-length album, titled «Hostile Consuming Rapture». The record will be released on April 6 through the label Grave Island Records.
As a first taste of this sonic assault, the band has premiered a playthrough video for their lead single, «Sectarian Ritual (Appalling Oath)», showcasing the technical prowess and crushing force that define this new chapter.
Following the impact of their previous EP, «Chaotic Demiurge», Sectarian Defacement has decided to push their sound into heavier and more focused territory. The band deliberately distances itself from the current trend of overproduced «slamcore,» instead betting on an aggressive and direct brutal death that hits with the force of a blunt weapon. The album amalgamates technical riffs, grind-like intensity, and groove-laden rhythm sections that ensure memorable tracks without losing an ounce of extremism.
Beyond the sonic violence, the trio stands out for a lyrical depth uncommon in the genre. In «Hostile Consuming Rapture», the band tackles dark historical themes, focusing especially on the crimes of the Soviet regime—a subject they consider vital for an international audience.
The band members shared their vision regarding the album’s production:
Nazar (Guitar/Vocals): «As a songwriter, my goal was to merge extreme aggression with catchy, groove-heavy elements. We wanted to create something unique that would set us apart from the saturation of bands that all sound the same.»
Anton (Bass/Production): «As the one responsible for the sound, I sought a mix that didn’t sound processed. My approach was to give ‘old school slam’ a logical modernization, influenced by bands like Sanguisugabogg, Aborted Fetus, or Amputated.»
Viktor (Drums): «I really enjoy the fact that we are one of the few bands talking about the crimes of the Soviet Union; it is fundamental that Western listeners learn the truth through our music.»
