Los referentes del deathcore italiano, The Modern Age Slavery, han marcado su regreso con el lanzamiento de su nuevo sencillo «No One Jokes at God». Se trata del primer adelanto de su próximo EP, titulado «1969 | No One Jokes at God«, el cual constituye la segunda entrega de una trilogía conceptual sobre la historia de la esclavitud humana.
El lanzamiento viene acompañado de un impactante videoclip oficial, ya disponible en su canal de YouTube, mientras que el audio puede encontrarse en las principales plataformas de streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music y Tidal).
«No One Jokes at God» profundiza en las luchas de la generación millennial, abordando temas como la fe, el destino y la búsqueda de esperanza en tiempos de oscuridad. La canción explora la fortaleza que emana de la vulnerabilidad y el reconocimiento del dolor pasado. Según la banda, el título hace referencia a esos momentos de absoluta desesperación en los que el ser humano recurre a algo superior, y donde «nadie se atreve a bromear sobre la existencia de Dios».
Este proyecto comenzó en 2022 con el objetivo de retratar la «esclavitud autoimpuesta» del hombre a través de tres eras distintas:
Capítulo I (2023): «1901 | The First Mother» – Inspirado en filósofos de la «era moderna», marcando el año del fallecimiento de la Reina Victoria.
Capítulo II (2026): «1969 | No One Jokes at God» – Este nuevo EP evoca el inicio simbólico de la cultura hippie en Woodstock y el rápido declive de los ideales de igualdad hacia la decadencia global actual.
El EP ha sido producido íntegramente por la banda, con el guitarrista Luca Cocconi a cargo de la ingeniería de sonido junto a Simone Sighinolfi, quien también realizó la mezcla y masterización en los Audiocore Studio (Parma, Italia).
Desde sus inicios, la formación italiana ha logrado distanciarse de la saturación del género gracias a un sonido visceral que combina blast beats demoledores, voces brutales y un doble bombo frenético.
Con trabajos previos como «Requiem For Us All» y «Stygian», la banda ha evolucionado incorporando matices del black metal y elementos orquestales, consolidándose como una maquinaria de guerra sonora en constante expansión.
The Italian deathcore stalwarts The Modern Age Slavery have marked their return with the release of their new single, «No One Jokes at God». This is the first preview of their upcoming EP, titled «1969 | No One Jokes at God», which serves as the second installment of a conceptual trilogy on the history of human slavery.
The release is accompanied by a striking official music video, now available on their YouTube channel, while the audio can be found on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal).
«No One Jokes at God» delves into the struggles of the millennial generation, addressing themes of faith, destiny, and the search for hope in dark times. The song explores the strength that emanates from vulnerability and the acknowledgment of past pain. According to the band, the title refers to those moments of absolute despair where human beings turn to a higher power, and where «no one dares to joke about the existence of God.»
This project began in 2022 with the aim of portraying man’s «self-imposed slavery» through three distinct eras:
Chapter I (2023): «1901 | The First Mother» – Inspired by «modern era» philosophers, marking the year of Queen Victoria’s passing.
Chapter II (2026): «1969 | No One Jokes at God» – This new EP evokes the symbolic beginning of hippie culture at Woodstock and the rapid decline of ideals of equality toward today’s global decay.
The EP was produced entirely by the band, with guitarist Luca Cocconi handling sound engineering alongside Simone Sighinolfi, who also performed the mixing and mastering at Audiocore Studio (Parma, Italy).
Since their inception, the Italian outfit has successfully distanced itself from the genre’s saturation thanks to a visceral sound that combines devastating blast beats, brutal vocals, and frenetic double bass drumming.
With previous works such as «Requiem For Us All» and «Stygian», the band has evolved by incorporating black metal nuances and orchestral elements, consolidating themselves as an ever-expanding sonic war machine.
