La nueva formación italiana de death-doom, Eternal Mourn, ha anunciado oficialmente su firma con el prestigioso sello Terror From Hell Records. El acuerdo contempla el lanzamiento de su EP debut, titulado «Winds of Sorrow», previsto para el próximo 20 de julio de 2026.
El proyecto nació de la colaboración inicial entre el baterista Debla y el guitarrista y vocalista Gabriel (miembro de bandas como Black Oath, The Rite y Extirpation). Posteriormente, la formación se consolidó con la incorporación del guitarrista Eros (Extirpation, Funest) y el bajista y vocalista Santo (Araphel, Demonomancy).
La banda surgió de un propósito común: canalizar sentimientos de melancolía, frustración, decadencia interna y pérdida a través de una propuesta musical profundamente oscura y emocional.
Inspirándose en la gran tradición del death-doom de la década de 1990, Eternal Mourn rinde homenaje a pilares del género como Paradise Lost, Katatonia y Cemetary. Sin embargo, la banda logra evitar caer en la mera nostalgia; por el contrario, reinterpretan dichas influencias con una autenticidad notable, logrando composiciones memorables que conservan la crudeza característica del doom/death metal clásico.
El EP «Winds of Sorrow» fue grabado en Spvn Studio, ubicado en Guanzate, Italia. El trabajo consta de tres pistas meticulosamente elaboradas que capturan la esencia de la visión artística del grupo: melodías lúgubres, atmósferas sombrías y una sensación omnipresente de desolación, todo ello entrelazado con riffspotentes y una ejecución apasionada.
El resultado es un debut que equilibra la melancolía con la pesadez sonora de manera orgánica, posicionando a Eternal Mourn como una de las nuevas propuestas más prometedoras dentro de la escena internacional del metal extremo.
The new Italian death-doom outfit Eternal Mourn has officially announced their signing with the prestigious label Terror From Hell Records. The deal includes the release of their debut EP, titled «Winds of Sorrow»,scheduled for this coming July 20, 2026.
The project was born from an initial collaboration between drummer Debla and guitarist/vocalist Gabriel(member of bands such as Black Oath, The Rite, and Extirpation). Later on, the lineup solidified with the addition of guitarist Eros (Extirpation, Funest) and bassist/vocalist Santo (Araphel, Demonomancy).
The band emerged from a common purpose: to channel feelings of melancholy, frustration, internal decay, and loss through a deeply dark and emotional musical vision.
Drawing inspiration from the great 1990s death-doom tradition, Eternal Mourn pays tribute to pillars of the genre like Paradise Lost, Katatonia, and Cemetary. However, the band manages to avoid falling into mere nostalgia; instead, they reinterpret these influences with remarkable authenticity, achieving memorable tracks that preserve the characteristic rawness of classic doom/death metal.
The EP «Winds of Sorrow» was recorded at Spvn Studio, located in Guanzate, Italy. The work consists of three meticulously crafted tracks that capture the essence of the group’s artistic vision: mournful melodies, somber atmospheres, and an omnipresent sense of desolation, all intertwined with powerful riffs and a passionate execution.
The result is a debut that organically balances melancholy with sonic heaviness, positioning Eternal Mourn as one of the most promising new acts within the international extreme metal scene.
