Sello: Time To Kill Records.

American death-grind pioneers Misery Index are celebrating a quarter-century of history with a vinyl reissue of their monumental debut EP from 2001, «Overthrow«. To build momentum ahead of its official release on December 15, 2026, via Time To Kill Records, the band has premiered a lyric video for the classic track «Your Pain Is Nothing».
Originally self-released under their own label, Anarchos Records, «Overthrow» was not only the Baltimore group’s calling card, but also the blueprint upon which they built their devastating fusion of death metal, grindcore, and politically charged hardcore.
This new edition is no simple facelift. For the first time in the release’s history, the recordings have undergone a remastering treatment designed exclusively for the analog format by Virtalähde Mastering, preserving the visceral rage and organic impact of the original sessions.
In addition to the five tracks that make up the original EP -including their relentless cover of «Dead Shall Rise» by the legendary Terrorizer– this vinyl run adds 3 bonus tracks recorded in 2002 (originally released on their iconic split with Commit Suicide).
Words from Jason Netherton:
«‘Your Pain is Nothing’ is a deep-cut classic that we decided to resurrect for this timely 25th anniversary of our debut EP «Overthrow». It’s a longer track that navigates between full-throttle blast beat verses and an even more epic chorus; without a doubt, a fan favorite for many old-school followers. We are thrilled to present it in this restored version, mastered specifically for vinyl» declares frontman and bassist Jason Netherton.
«A long time has passed since we put it out in 2001, but it’s incredible to see the impact it has had. Its longevity has been inspiring: to this day, people still request these songs live, and we’re glad they are finally getting the proper treatment with a fresh vinyl master courtesy of Time to Kill».
«Overthrow» marked the initial manifesto of a band destined to become one of the most influential names in 21st-century extreme underground metal, combining the speed of grind, the technical crushing power of death metal, and social criticism razor-sharp as a scalpel.
Material included in the vinyl edition:
Original EP (2001): 5 tracks of pure death-grind ferocity (includes Terrorizer cover).
Bonus Tracks (2002): 3 extra tracks taken from the sessions of their split with Commit Suicide.
Audio Treatment: Brand-new master optimized for vinyl by Virtalähde Mastering.
Release Date: December 15, 2026.
