La formación australiana de blackened death metal Complexant ha estrenado el videoclip oficial de «Afterlife», el segundo sencillo de su inminente álbum de larga duración, «Apex». La banda ha colaborado con el portal No Clean Singing para realizar el estreno mundial exclusivo de esta pieza audiovisual.
Sobre el trasfondo lírico del tema, el vocalista Dan Greigsy comenta: «La canción narra la historia de un matrimonio que, luchando por llegar a fin de mes pero profundamente devoto el uno al otro, acuerda un pacto suicida para escapar de sus crecientes problemas de deudas. La letra funciona casi como su conversación final, convenciéndose mutuamente de terminar con todo, resonando con la cruda realidad de que nadie quiere vivir para siempre cuando vive una vida tan dura y muere por dentro».
«Apex» constará de diez pistas que destacan por un riffing brutal, intensidad percusiva y voces sobrenaturales. Tras el éxito de varios sencillos y el EP «A Rite of Passage» (2023), Complexant busca consolidar su estatus en la escena global del metal con este trabajo, que verá la luz el próximo 31 de julio a través de Bleeding Art Collective, en asociación con Blood Blast Distribution.

The Australian blackened death metal outfit Complexant has premiered the official music video for «Afterlife», the second single from their imminent full-length album, «Apex». The band has collaborated with the portal No Clean Singing for the exclusive worldwide premiere of this audiovisual piece.
Regarding the lyrical background of the track, vocalist Dan Greigsy comments: «The song tells the story of a married couple who, struggling to make ends meet but deeply devoted to one another, agree to a suicide pact to escape their mounting debt problems. The lyrics function almost as their final conversation, convincing each other to end it all, resonating with the raw reality that nobody wants to live forever when they live such a harsh life and are dying inside.»
«Apex» will consist of ten tracks that stand out for their brutal riffing, percussive intensity, and otherworldly vocals. Following the success of several singles and the EP «A Rite of Passage» (2023), Complexant aims to solidify their status in the global metal scene with this work, which will see the light of day this coming July 31 through Bleeding Art Collective, in association with Blood Blast Distribution.
