Helsinki-based Death Metal quartet Grave Hex has launched a full stream of their highly anticipated new EP, «Domain of Foul Rebirths», via the specialized channel Death Metal Promotion. The premiere serves as a preview ahead of its official release set for October 30, 2026, when the record will be available on cassette through Night Terrors Records and on CD via Cavernous Records. This five-track release arrives as the direct follow-up to their acclaimed 2025 debut album, «Vermian Death», pushing their grotesque musical vision into heavier, more intricate, and suffocating territory.
Without sacrificing the physical impact or the deep-rooted punk attitude that defined their early steps, Grave Hex expands their sound on «Domain of Foul Rebirths». This time around, the band places a much stronger emphasis on groove, injecting a crushing rhythmic drive that coexists with more complex structures and a broader dynamic range—all without betraying the rotten essence of classic Finnish Death Metal.
Recorded and mixed in-house by band member Matti Vainionpää and mastered by the renowned Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios, the EP combines analog heavy-hitting punch with an experimental, refined approach to production. The cover artwork, dripping with rot and visceral detail, was once again handled by the artist Slimeweaver.
Official band statement: «When writing the material for ‘Domain of Foul Rebirths’, we maintained the style we established on ‘Vermian Death’, but pushed the compositions and tonal palette to a higher level of complexity. We used mostly the same musical gear, though we took an experimental approach to production. The result is recognizable yet more polished.
The core themes revolve around bizarre and executable methods of self-destruction and rebirth. Each track examines beings or entities reborn through horrifying forms of torment: self-evisceration, being eaten alive, esoteric surgery, and other pathways to achieving post-mortem metamorphosis.»
Formed in 2024, Grave Hex has rapidly established themselves as one of the solidest acts in the Nordic underground. Following the impact of «Vermian Death» and their devastating sets at key festivals such as Helsinki Death Fest and Rot in Peace Metal Fest, this new release reaffirms their ability to craft foul, technical, and macabre Death Metal.
