La formación italiana de death metal Gorge ha anunciado el lanzamiento de su álbum de larga duración debut, titulado Deeds of Horror. El disco verá la luz el próximo 27 de agosto de 2026 a través del sello Time To Kill Records. Coincidiendo con este anuncio, la banda ha presentado el primer sencillo del álbum, «Visions Before Dying».
«Visions Before Dying» es una descarga implacable de death metal, impulsada por una velocidad vertiginosa y una intensidad asfixiante que evoca la brutalidad clásica de referentes como Suffocation o Dying Fetus. La composición oscila entre pasajes frenéticos de blast beats y ritmos profundos y cavernosos, generando una dinámica violenta, caótica y opresiva.

El tema imagina una mente a la deriva entre fragmentos de recuerdos, realidades distorsionadas y dimensiones desconocidas, donde sueños, alucinaciones y miedos subconscientes se fusionan en una secuencia final de revelaciones surrealistas ante la inminente oscuridad de la consciencia.
Fundada en 2025 por Edoardo Nicoloso (conocido por su trabajo en Fulci, Jorelia y TV-Crimes) y Roberto Sava (Jorelia), Gorge nació con el propósito de explorar el death metal en su forma más directa e intransigente. Su propuesta se nutre de la energía cruda de los años fundacionales del género, pero con un enfoque dinámico y personal.
La filosofía musical de Gorge se centra en el riff como fuerza narrativa principal. Coinciding with this announcement, the band has presented the album’s first single, «Visions Before Dying».
«Visions Before Dying» is an implacable blast of death metal, driven by blistering speed and a suffocating intensity that evokes the classic brutality of benchmarks like Suffocation or Dying Fetus. The composition swings between frenetic blast-beat passages and deep, cavernous rhythms, generating a violent, chaotic, and oppressive dynamic.
Lyrically, the track explores the mysterious threshold between life and death. Inspired by psychological and metaphysical cinematic works such as Altered States and Jacob’s Ladder, the song dives into the haunting visions and dreamlike experiences that might occur in the final moments before the body gives out.
