(English Below)

Portuguese post-metal and atmospheric sludge trio Palegazer has unveiled full details for their upcoming debut full-length, titled «White Mourning». The album is set to see the light of day on October 30, 2026, via Octopus Rising, and will be available both on CD and across digital platforms. Following the initial impact of their recent single “Imminence”, the group now reveals the complete architecture of a work comprised of five sprawling passages engineered to consume the listener.

«White Mourning» takes shape as a visceral exploration of human fragility, grief, and the process of letting go. Conceptually, the title plays on the duality between mourning and liberation, transforming loss into a vessel for personal rebirth.

Musically, Palegazer articulates a sound built upon violent contrasts: seamless transitions shifting from delicate, highly fragile melodic passages to crushing walls of sound dominated by monolithic riffs and a vocal performance fraught with tension. Their direct points of reference converge around titans of the caliber of YOB, Russian Circles, REZN, Deafheaven, Conan, Bölzer, Mastodon, Ahab, and Bell Witch.

Production was handled entirely by the band itself, tracking the record in their personal studio to preserve the raw grit of the performances. The final mixing and mastering duties were executed by Diogo Santana at Noise Portrait Recordings, securing an ideal balance between the crushing weight of sludge and the atmospheric layering of post-metal.
