Tras trece largos años de inactividad que pusieron a prueba la paciencia del underground polaco, los maestrillos del thrash metal Komutator han anunciado el lanzamiento de su esperado segundo álbum de estudio, «We Don’t Owe You Anything». El disco verá la luz el próximo 18 de septiembre de 2026 a través del sello polaco Via Nocturna, editándose en formatos digital y CD.
Fundada en 2006 por el guitarrista Michał «Kinder» Kowalski, la banda se labró un nombre respetcripto con su debut «Metal Sadism». Ahora, tras una prolongada pausa, regresan con una pegada renovada pero manteniendo intacta la agresividad y el enfoque implacable que siempre los ha caracterizado.
Grabado de forma intermitente entre 2024 y 2026 en los estudios Heinrich House Studio y Turnia Studio (Halny), el álbum cuenta con unas credenciales de producción impecables. Las labores de mezcla y masterización recayeron sobre Filip Hałucha en Heinrich House Studio -reconocido por su trabajo con colosos de la talla de Baalzagoth, Behemoth y Deus Mortem-, logrando una pegada moderna, cristalina y demoledora.
El propio Michał «Kinder» Kowalski reflexiona sobre este nuevo material:
«Es nuestro lanzamiento más diverso hasta la fecha, oscilando entre la agresión implacable y momentos de melancolía, tensión y reflexión. Nunca intentamos forzar un equilibrio entre esos extremos; simplemente queríamos que la música reflejara las emociones detrás de cada canción».
Líricamente, «We Don’t Owe You Anything» abandona los tropos apocalípticos superficiales para centrarse en la degradación autoinfligida de la humanidad. El disco disecciona un mundo distópico donde la verdad ha sido distorsionada, la libertad se reduce a una ilusión vacía y los individuos son tratados como meros recursos.
Para redondear este ambicioso viaje sonoro, el álbum cuenta con colaboraciones de auténtico lujo dentro de la escena extrema:
Wojciech Kostrzewa (Asgaard) – Samples en el instrumental «Metathesiophobia».

After thirteen long years of inactivity that tested the patience of the Polish underground, thrash metal masters Komutator have announced the release of their highly anticipated second studio album, «We Don’t Owe You Anything». The record will see the light of day this coming September 18, 2026, through the Polish label Via Nocturna, releasing in digital and CD formats.
Founded in 2006 by guitarist Michał «Kinder» Kowalski, the band built a respected name for themselves with their debut «Metal Sadism». Now, after an extended hiatus, they return with a renewed punch while keeping intact the aggressiveness and relentless approach that has always characterized them.
Recorded intermittently between 2024 and 2026 at Heinrich House Studio and Turnia Studio (Halny), the album boasts impeccable production credentials. Mixing and mastering duties fell to Filip Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio—renowned for his work with giants of the caliber of Baalzagoth, Behemoth, and Deus Mortem—achieving a modern, crystalline, and devastating sound.
Michał «Kinder» Kowalski himself reflects on this new material:
«It is our most diverse release to date, oscillating between relentless aggression and moments of melancholy, tension, and reflection. We never tried to force a balance between those extremes; we simply wanted the music to reflect the emotions behind each song.»
Lyrically, «We Don’t Owe You Anything» abandons superficial apocalyptic tropes to focus on humanity’s self-inflicted degradation. The record dissects a dystopian world where truth has been distorted, freedom is reduced to an empty illusion, and individuals are treated as mere resources.
