Ireland’s extreme scene has once again birthed a genuine sonic aberration. Under the banner of the label Apocalyptic Witchcraft, newcomers Leadbelcher have announced the details of their scathing debut album, «Heaven’s Bloated Corpse», with an official release date scheduled for October 16, 2026, in limited edition 10″ vinyl, digipack CD, and cassette formats.
Conor Droney, head of the record label, pulls no punches in defining the band’s proposal: «Leadbelcher sounds like the decay of Ireland made physical form—a suffocating collision of filth-drenched death metal, shattering blast beats, and d-beat rot. «Heaven’s Bloated Corpse» is violent, putrid, and utterly uncompromising.»
Formed in 2024, the band brings together musicians seasoned in the sewers of underground metal, with previous trajectories in acts of the caliber of Sermon Of Flames, Mortichnia, and Coscradh. Far from pigeonholing themselves into genre clichés, the quartet self-defines their sound as dissident death metal: an amalgam of ancestral death infused with grind, filth, and visceral contempt that offers no reprieve whatsoever.
To capture this manifesto of misanthropy with surgical precision, recording and mixing were handled by Josh Robinsonat JSR Audio in Belfast—known for his work with bands like From Ruins, Skullmaiden, and Valley Of Despair. Meanwhile, mastering fell to the expert hands of James Plotkin (responsible for the sound of giants like Blasphemy, Khanate, and Leviathan), granting the record a punch capable of crushing the remains of humankind.
The visual component is completed with corrupted, contorted artwork designed by Adam Medford (Morgue Supplier, Cadaver), closing a perfect circle of absolute nihilism.
